
Project Director, Malaysia National Adaptation Plan (MyNAP)

Noor Akmar Shah holds Degree on Chemical Engineering from University of South Wales (formerly known as University of Glamorgan), United Kingdom. He is also certified as six sigma green belt holder and lead assessor for ISO 9001 management system.
He had been working in various industries including manufacturing and services industries. He started his career with Sony UK Ltd as the process engineer and continues it in Malaysia in other multi-national companies including Hitachi Chemical Johor and Avery Dennison Malaysia at various positions.
Some of the projects that he involved are:
- The Project Director for the GIZ Malaysia National Adaptation Plan (MyNAP) project from 2025 to current (2027 is the end of project) which is funded by co financing between GCF and BMUV. This is the biggest ever GIZ project in Malaysia and the so important for government of Malaysia in addressing the climate change issues. Besides that, this project also is the first bilateral project for Malaysia which requires significant negotiation with Malaysia ministries especially with Ministry of Natural Resources & Environmental Sustainability (NRES) which is political partner for this project. Since the project has the objective to mainstream Adaptation actions in ministries plans and activities; therefore, there are approximately 15 other ministries are involved in this project as supporters and beneficiaries to the outputs as well as outcomes of project. (Sept 2024 – August 2027)
- The National Coordinator/Advisor for the GIZ Sustainable Consumption & Production (SCP) project from 2015 to 2024 which had been funded by BMUV. The project had 4 phases and the main objective was to introduce and encourage partners countries to adopt and mainstream the concept of SCP in all government activities and programs especially on the procurement. The project started with introduction of Green Labelling to the industries and followed with implementation of Green Public Procurement in government which cover all types purchasing. All the eco system of
GPP has also been covered especially on human capacity and financial mechanisms as to ensure the sustainability of project outcomes.
