Bio

Charles Santiago is a Malaysian public policy advocate and former three-term Member of Parliament whose work has focused on the intersection of globalisation, democracy, human rights, economic justice, and regional governance. Over more than two decades, he has been a prominent voice on issues of inequality, labour rights, migration, climate justice, corporate accountability, and the impact of global economic systems on vulnerable communities.

As a parliamentarian, Charles served on key legislative and policy platforms, where he championed transparency, institutional reform, social protection, and the rights of marginalised populations. His work consistently sought to bridge local concerns with global policy debates, highlighting how international financial structures, trade regimes, and development models shape everyday realities across Southeast Asia.
